John Adrian Sweeney Memorial Scholarship
In honor of Professor John A. Sweeney, a distinguished scholar in the field of psychiatry and schizophrenia research, we have established the John Adrian Sweeney Memorial Scholarship, and we are pleased to announce the third-year competition of the scholarship.
Professor Sweeney had made outstanding contributions to the field of schizophrenia research. He also trained a number of outstanding young scholars and researchers in this field. His contributions were not only reflected in his academic achievements, but also in his charisma and selfless dedication. The scholarship is intended to encourage young scholars to pursue further scientific research in the field of schizophrenia research and psychiatry.
1. About the Scholarship
(1) Eligibility: young researchers and students no more than 35 years old
(2) Application: self-nomination or nominated by committee member of the CAP
(3) Number of awardees: 3 in total, with a prize of 10,000 RMB (about $ 1,400)
2. Application Submission
(1) A short curriculum vita not to exceed four (4) pages
(2) A competitive article that was published between Jan 2024 and Dec 2024
(3) A letter of nomination Department or faculty mentor

3. Selection Procedures
(1) Scores
Each nominee will be scored by the Award Committee composed by Professor Sweeney's colleagues and collaborators in the United States, including professors from Harvard Medical School, University of Pittsburgh, University of Maryland, University of Minnesota, University of Cincinnati, etc.
(3) Notification: Early June.
